Eight Spanish nationals evacuated from Woliso town last week following the ongoing protests across the Oromia regional state, including at a number of universities.
The eight men, who work for UTE Elsamex, a subsidiary of the Spain-based company, were engaged in upgrading 62 kilometres of the Ambo-Woliso Road.
The staff were transported from Wolliso to Addis Ababa with the help of the Spanish Embassy in Addis Ababa as a result of the worsening security situation in the town.
The controversial draft masterplan, which is yet to be endorsed, has already drawn strong protests across Oromia region that turned violent.
